Kindergarten:

Martin McNulty + Jim Beattie

Akufen

Luke Solomon

£5 all night

10pm till 4am

(bar until the close)

Well... yes, and here we go again. Following the devastation caused by Matthew Dear’s live show and an unshackled Martin McNulty unleashed on the Attic turntables in September, we’re back some very important news for you.

Now as you’re all undoubtedly unaware, the first week in October usually brings about the most important date in your diaries – Kindergarten’s birthday party. Unfortunately this year, due to wedding commitments for a number of the key Kindergarten staff, we had to postpone the birthday until this month.

But fret not, because November’s Kindergarten is arguably our most-anticipated party yet, for four crucial reasons.

Firstly, just because it’s our seventh birthday, and there’s not many clubs in the country that can boast that!

Secondly, November will see the re-uniting of the greatest resident DJ duo in clubland, as the one and only Kindergarten LEGEND Jim Beattie returns to play alongside Martin McNulty for the first time since retiring almost a year ago. After all, what would a Kindergarten birthday be without the men who started it all off and guided the club through the best part of three quarters of a decade?

Thirdly, also appearing on the night will be two special guests. The first is one of our favourite guests of the last seven years, the French-Canadian pioneer Akufen who returns to us, this time swapping the dark and dirty confines of Club V for the, well, dark and dirty confines of the Attic. If you missed it last time, this is another great opportunity to see a master of the genre, whom to date has played for only a handful of nights across the country. The second is a long time Kindergarten favourite Luke Solomon, who last graced us in 2005 as part of The Freaks in what has proved to be one of most popular mix downloads. Forever linked to the Classic Music Company, Space and MFF, Luke has recently completed music for Luciano's label Cadenza and has a fourth Freaks album 'Psych!' due soon.

The fourth, and fittingly final reason for you to come down is that the November party will mark the end of an era as the Kindergarten club machine finally pulls to the curb and puts it into park. Hmm, but enough of the crappy analogies, that’s right – after seven years of running the most consistent club night in Manchester, and after careful consideration, we’ve decided to call it a day for the parties at The Attic. We’d like to thank Jon, Gart and all the staff that have tolerated us over the years, and the scores of top quality DJs who have graced our turntables. But most of all we’d like to thank you – the wonderful loyal clubbers who have made Kindergarten one of the best-supported and successful nights in the North West.

But don’t hang up your dancing shoes just yet, as we promise we’ll be back in the new year in a new venue with some extra special parties in the years to come. I mean really, you didn’t think we would just leave you for good like that did you?
